Now that I've had this pair for 30 days, I have to write that this is an outstanding pair of boots First, I want to write this, Outpost is an outstanding company because they offer a selection of boots that I've never heard of before, sizes that I haven't seen anywhere else except for another store which I'll mention later and customer service that is an actual customer service and good at it. I never heard of Olathe Boots until I watched a YouTube review of some different make boots and one of the commentators mentioned Olathe and Anderson Bean. I never heard of these brands, googled them, and found Outpost. and then found that they offer boots in B and C last (width)! And I wear a 12B/C depending on the make, 12.5 and 13AA. I found a pair that I liked, called them, got a person who was interested in making sure that I got what I wanted, and I made the order. After a few hours, I didn't see an email acknowledgement of the order and I called them. The same sales person answered, told me about the heels on the boots that I wanted weren't properly finished and suggested a different pair which I ordered which I am wearing right now. This is genuine customer service folks. Contrast this with my experience with Texas Boot Company and I'll get to this later.

These boots are well made, the leather is high quality, a bit heavy but this is because the sole is made up of four layers including a rubber over leather outsole and heel. Will look good in jeans and a suit. If I take care of them, they should last the rest of my life.

Now to Texas Boots, I hope this comment doesn't violate one of Outpost's policies. I ordered a pair of Anderson Beans in 13AA. The only pair in this size in any make that I've seen since I've been looking for boots. They sent them and I noticed that the sole on top of the heel was raggedy looking like dried flaky cardboard. Since Texas Boots didn't tell me about this, I thought it was best to call Outpost boots because I trust them and they Anderson Beans to get a second opinion. They told me that they didn't look right and to call Texas Boots. I did and was told that they had no more 13AAs to send them back and they will send them to Anderson Bean for repair and the turnaround is approx. 6 months! If I got them repaired, they will not cover the cost, not even a part of the cost. What's worse is Texas Boots didn't even give me one inkling of a mention that the heel looks bad and to maybe sell them at a reduced cost or cover at least some part of the repair which is $180. And they don’t stand by their service because I haven’t received a review request.
